Names: Hannah & William
Wedding date: 04/11/2019
Ceremony & Reception Venue: St John’s Anglican Church Toorak & Quat Quatta
How we met and the marriage proposal: We first met on tinder. Will was a well versed tinder dater and I was on my very first date. I was a little apprehensive so I suggested coffee during our work lunch break. Our date at Degraves street ended as lunch, as we got on so well and had a lot in common.
Will proposed to me over coffee and croissants at home, while I was in bed and in my flannelette pj’s! Later that day he arranged a surprise family dinner & drinks which was very special.
About our wedding day: Our wedding day was out of our dreams. I was very relaxed, everything just felt right and I was excited to celebrate our love. Our ceremony was traditional, the weather wet until the skies opened up for our wonderful reception and concluded with the best party we could have imagined! Highlights were the speeches from our favourite people that had us in tears of laughter and the best dancefloor! We were lucky to have a great support team for the day - our suppliers/vendors let us be ourselves, kept things on track and were awesome.
Our wedding style: Simple, classic and elegant.
Finding my wedding gown and couture experience at Suzanne Harward: I loved my bridal dress experience at Suzanne Harward. The private appointment was perfect for me - I had never experienced so much care and attention, despite attending several bridal appointments elsewhere. I was less than 4 weeks post foot surgery for my appointment, so I had challenges getting changed and moving with my crutches. The team were so lovely and it appeared effortless to accommodate my needs. The bubbly shared with Mum when celebrating my purchase just topped it off! My dress style and fit on my wedding day was my biggest surprise, it was even better than I had imagined. I felt amazing as a bride and didn’t want to take my dress off!
First dance song: How sweet it is (to be loved by you) by James Taylor. Choreographed by Nat from You Can Dance Studio.
Advice for future couples: It’s an exciting time of your life, enjoy every high moment and be ready for some challenging aspects of planning a wedding. Plan ahead and be organised. Try and have united views as it will assist with decision making, especially when discussing ideas with others. I’d highly recommend a videographer as they capture the whole day and special moments that you don’t get to see, such as the Groomsmen getting ready, the flower girl, page boy and bridesmaids walking down the aisle. These memories are recorded, can be treasured for a lifetime and shared with your loved ones for years to come.
