Names: Jessica and Nicholas
Wedding date: 15 February 2020
Ceremony & Reception Venue: Lindenderry Red Hill
How we met and the marriage proposal: Nick and I met over a decade ago at a mutual friend’s house. My parents own a holiday house down the peninsula and it is somewhere that Nick and I love to spend our time. Over the summer we were staying at the house and Nick told me that he had organised to go a winery for lunch for our 8 year anniversary. Nick had booked lunch at Lindenderry (a place we had never been and never heard of) and when we arrived he said that we were a little early so let’s go for a walk around the winery. We ended up down by the lake and there was a picnic set up. Nick then read me a letter he had written which ended in asking if I wanted to get married! It was really lovely. It was that night we decided to get married at Lindenderry.
About our wedding day: Our wedding day was so fun. We spent the whole day laughing, dancing, drinking with all of our favourite people. It was such a good party.
Our wedding style: Classic, romantic and fun
Finding my wedding gown and couture experience at Suzanne Harward: A month or two after first trying on dresses at Suzanne Harward, the new collection was released. I first saw my dress online and thought it was pretty cool. When I went back to Suzanne Harward to try it on, I completely fell in love with it. The Suzanne Harward team were truly amazing at every appointment. The detail and time put into the dress was outstanding. I love my dress so much.

Advice for future couples: You do you. Make your wedding about you as a couple and don’t let other people’s opinions impact what you want to do on the day. I understand this is sometimes hard to do, but what I discovered very early on was to only ask the opinion of a few very close people, and to pretend to listen to all other opinions. Spend money on the things that matter to you, and save your money on the things that don’t - people do not notice all the little things so long as they have food, drinks and a good dancefloor. This isn’t really advice but one thing I am so happy I did was have one of my sister’s close friends who works in PR and is always around events to help out on the day. Although the venue had wedding planners to assist, I really found having someone I know and trust on the day so beneficial. The wedding would not have run so smoothly without her – thank you Chlo!
Honeymoon destination: We went to Elements at Byron Bay for 5 nights after the wedding with the plan to go to South Africa later in the year (which has been postponed because of Covid-19).
